Description

This video shows how to add webbing, burlap, and foam to a bare chair frame. Learn how to upholster a chair, sofa, or couch arm. Webbing is added first using a webbing stretcher to add support to the chair’s inside arm. Burlap covered welting is added to the wood chair frame to soften up the wood edges. Tack strip is added over the large welting, securing it to the chair arm. Foam is glued on the top of the arm to fill in the space and soften the arm. Burlap is pulled over the top of the chair’s arm, to round the shape. One inch (1″) foam is added over the whole arm, followed by a layer of Dacron. The chair arm is now ready to cover in a home decor or decorator fabric.
