Description

A step by step demonstration showing how to upholster or recover the outside back of a chair. The supplies needed are cardboard tack strip, metal tack strip with a vinyl sleeve, a mallet, scissors, pneumatic stapler, bonded Dacron, and fabric cut to fit the chair back. First, tack the fabric back to the top of the chair frame. Apply a layer of cardboard tack strip over the first staple line. Then add bonded Dacron to the back, tacking around the perimeter. The bottom of the fabric is tacked to the chair’s bottom edge, underneath the chair. Then the sides of the fabric are pinned in place and attached with the metal tack strip, pulling the chair back taut.
