Description

Learn how to sew French seams and lapped seams. A French seam encases the raw edge of a seam allowance inside the seam, so that the seam is stronger and will not ravel out. French seams are often used on sheer fabrics. A lapped seam is used on fabrics that do not fray, such as felts–although a modified lapped seam can be used on fabrics that do ravel.
